Safety
Some of this needs a person, not a website.
This page is short on purpose. If you recognise yourself on it, act on it rather than reading on.
Now
- If you are thinking about harming yourself, or feel unable to go on, contact your local emergency services or a crisis line immediately.
- The same if you have concluded that nobody would notice if you were gone, that you are a burden, or that you do not matter. Nothing on this site says that, and if you are there, it is not a thought to sit alone with tonight.
- If you are frightened of someone, or in immediate danger from anyone: emergency services.
- If you are worried about a child's safety: contact the child protection or safeguarding service where you live, today.
A doctor, not a website
- Weeks without speaking to anybody, or not leaving the house.
- Distress about being unable to connect that is not lifting.
- Losing interest in people you used to want to see.
- Sleep or appetite gone.
Nothing on this site tells you what any of that means, and the SI (super intelligence) guide will not either. Get it looked at properly by somebody qualified.
Somebody qualified, without judgement
- Someone in your life who controls, threatens or frightens you. A specialist service exists for this and it is not only for women.
- A bereavement, or a relationship that has just ended. Grief has its own support and nothing on this site applies to it.
- Drinking or drug use that has become how contact gets managed or avoided. A doctor is a reasonable first stop.
- A marriage or family you want actual help with. That is couples counselling or mediation, both of which are real professions. This site is neither.
Severe alcohol withdrawal — seizures, hallucinations, severe confusion, frightening shaking — is emergency care now.
If you have nobody at all
This site is written for a man who has people and cannot reach them. If you genuinely have no one, that is a different and heavier thing, and the observations here are not addressed to it. Please treat it as worth speaking to a doctor about, rather than something to solve by reading.
